Overview

The ProMediaGear GKJRCG Green Katana Pro Gimbal Head with side mount clamp works the same as the regular Katana Pro with a cradle mount. However, the difference is in the mounting system.

This version has a side mount clamp, which means that the camera is directly attached to the vertical pivot point.

Compared to a cradle mount, the GKJRCG Katana Pro side mount clamp version does not have as much mobility as the standard cradle mount. This is because it centers the lens around the axis of rotation at the vertical pivot.

There is an advantage to a side clamp gimbal head though - weight. This gimbal head is less bulky. It is easier to transport from one place to another.

Functionality is the same as the regular Katana Pro Gimbal Head. It is stable and can carry large lenses.

ProMediaGear creates these gimbal heads with T6061 aircraft-grade aluminum making them lightweight, durable, and easy to carry. Fluidity is no problem as well due to the sealed bearings.
